Key Responsibilities

• Participate in structured on-the-job training programs across different departments as per the development plan.
• Support departmental projects, operations and daily activities.
• Conduct research, data analysis and reporting to aid decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company policies in all assigned tasks.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions.
• Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve business processes.

Operational Requirements

• Understanding of mining legislation, SOPs and operational procedures.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols and risk assessment methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-cultural environment.
• Ability to work effectively in remote locations and diverse weather conditions.
• Ability to work at a remote mining site in Zambia.
• Must be comfortable travelling across First Quantum Minerals sites, local and international, when required.

Experience

• No prior experience required, but internship or practical experience in mining operations will be advantageous.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and in a team environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office suite and Artificial Intelligence.
• Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution and reporting.
• Ability to tackle practical, production-oriented problems through mini-projects.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the following relevant fields:

• Geo-science related disciplines
• Geo-metallurgy
• Environmental Sciences
• Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
• Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Process Engineering
• Industrial Engineering, Law, Commerce, Supply Chain or Economics
• Safety Engineering
• Business Administration, Human Resource Management or Social Sciences
