Graduate Mining Engineer

Overall Job Purpose

The Graduate Trainee will undergo a structured development program aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to excel in their chosen field. This role provides hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to various aspects of the business operations at FQM Trident Limited.

Specific Job Responsibility

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include.

• Participate in structured on-the-job training programs across different departments.
• Support departmental projects, operations, and daily activities.
• Conduct research, data analysis, and reporting to aid decision-making.
• Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies in all assigned tasks.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions.
• Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve business processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tasks, findings, and progress reports.

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mining legislation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and risk assessment methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to tackle practical, production-oriented problems through mini-projects.
• Project Management: Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.

Experience required to perform in this job

(i.e. years  of experience performing the same or related areas)

• No prior experience required.
• Internships or practical experience in mining operations will be advantageous.
• Ability to multi-task & work well under pressure and in a team environment
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Computer literate in Microsoft office suit

Qualifications

(Academic/ technical and or professional qualification required for the job)

• Degree in a relevant field (Mining Engineering, Mining Geology, geo-science ,Geometallurgy, Data Science, Environmental Sciences, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Forestry, or any Natural Resources Management field, Computer Science/Statistic / Mathematics.
• No prior experience required. Internships or practical experience in mining operations will be advantageous.
