Position Overview: Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient handling of materials within CCM’s warehouses, factories, and shipping yards. This position requires operating industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack heavy materials while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key Responsibilities for Forklift Operator Jobs in Chingola

• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently to transport materials, supplies, and equipment across the worksite.
• Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas, ensuring cargo is secured and properly stacked.
• Perform daily pre-operational checks on the forklift and report any faults or maintenance needs to the Person in Charge (PIC).
• Follow site traffic regulations and ensure safe movement of loads in congested or restricted areas.
• Maintain accurate records of materials moved, stored, or distributed.
• Support general warehouse or yard operations as required.
• Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and timely hazard reporting.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper care of the forklift and surrounding work area.
• Comply with all instructions from the PIC and company procedures.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the PIC as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid competence certificate in forklift operation.
• At least one (1) year of experience operating forklifts in mining, industrial, or warehouse environments.
• Strong knowledge of forklift maintenance, load limits, and safe operating practices.
• Good organisational skills and ability to handle loads effectively.
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Valid silicosis certificate.
