About the Finance Manager Role

As Finance Manager, you will be a vital member of Baobab College’s Senior Leadership Team, entrusted with overseeing the daily operations of the Finance Department. Your responsibilities will encompass fee billing, procurement, payroll management, and ensuring all statutory financial obligations are met promptly. Additionally, you will ensure the school’s adherence to Zambia’s financial regulations, maintaining compliance with all relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities for Finance Manager Jobs in Lusaka

• Develop and prepare the annual budget for review by the Principal and the Board of Governors’ Finance Committee.
• Produce statutory accounts and supervise all audit processes to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
• Align financial strategies with the School’s Strategic Plan to support sustainable growth and occasionally lead fundraising initiatives.
• Manage additional areas including estate management, health and safety, and commercial activities.
• Report directly to the Principal and maintain accountability to the Board of Governors.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Postgraduate degree in finance or a related discipline.
• Membership of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• Professional qualification such as ZICA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• At least 7 years’ experience in a senior leadership role with proven budget management and fundraising capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of Zambian financial laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong IT proficiency, including MS Office and financial management systems.
• Experience managing diverse, multicultural teams within a leadership capacity.
