As the Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction and operational efficiency of the department. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing departmental strategies and annual plans aligned with Carlcare’s objectives.
• Leading, mentoring, and managing the finance team, including recruitment, goal-setting, performance evaluations, and fostering professional growth.
• Overseeing budgeting processes, resource allocation, and cost control to ensure financial discipline.
• Defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting outcomes to senior leadership.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and standards while driving process improvements.
• Facilitating cross-functional collaboration to support company-wide initiatives and resolve interdepartmental challenges.
• Leading major projects, managing change initiatives, and mitigating risks within the department.
• Representing the finance department in executive meetings and contributing to the overall organizational strategy.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this finance head of department role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is mandatory.
• Proven leadership experience managing a team of at least five members.
• A background in accounts and finance is highly advantageous.
• Strong leadership capabilities combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in consumer electronics, FMCG, retail, or distribution sectors is a plus.
• Zambian nationals or individuals with legal authorization to work in Zambia are encouraged to apply.
