Overall Responsibility

Forecasting & Quantification

• Supporting the 2026 pharmacy commodities forecasting cycle and ensuring timely completion of forecasting activities.
• Conducting data quality assessments (DQA) of pharmacy commodity data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Leading the quantification of pharmacy commodities using the Quantification Analytics Tool (QAT) to determine supply requirements.
• Validating forecasting assumptions, data inputs, consumption trends, and programmatic requirements to ensure accurate and evidence-based forecasts.

Commodity-Specific Planning

• Coordinating the forecasting and supply planning for ARVs, TB medicines, and essential medicines.
• Ensuring accurate forecasting of pharmacy commodity requirements based on consumption, service demand, and programmatic needs.
• Tracking consumption patterns and trends to inform forecasting, quantification, and supply planning decisions.

Data Management

• Maintaining pharmacy commodity databases and records to ensure timely and reliable access to supply planning information.
• Conducting data analysis and visualization to identify consumption trends, gaps, and insights for forecasting and supply planning.
• Supporting data quality improvement initiatives to strengthen the reliability and usability of pharmacy commodity data.
• Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of pharmacy commodity data and records used for forecasting, quantification, and supply planning.

Pipeline Monitoring

• Monitoring pharmacy commodity supply pipelines to ensure timely availability of required medicines and health commodities.
• Tracking shipment status and delivery progress to identify and address potential delays.
• Identifying supply chain bottlenecks and reporting issues requiring corrective action.
• Supporting coordination with relevant stakeholders to facilitate timely shipment, receipt, and distribution of pharmacy commodities.

Capacity Building

• Mentoring MOH/ZAMMSA staff to strengthen forecasting, quantification, and supply planning competencies.
• Supporting QAT training and practical capacity-building activities for relevant pharmacy and supply chain personnel.
• Developing training materials, job aids, and reference tools to support effective forecasting and quantification practices.
• Ensuring effective transfer of forecasting, quantification, and supply planning competencies to MOH/ZAMMSA staff.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in health supply chain forecasting.
• Experience with quantification tools (QAT, Quantimed, or similar).
• Understanding of Zambian health supply chain systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Master's in Public Health or Supply Chain Management.
• Certification in forecasting and quantification.
• Experience with PEPFAR-funded programs.
• Experience with HIV and TB commodity supply chains.
• Experience with MOH pharmaceutical systems.
