Position: Farm Manager

Supervises: Farm Supervisor and Farm Workers

Role Overview – Farm Manager Jobs in Lusaka

The Farm Manager will oversee all daily operations at Mimosa Farm, ensuring efficiency, productivity, profitability, and sustainability. This role requires strategic leadership to manage crop and livestock production, financial planning, staff supervision, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, plant, irrigate, fertilize, and harvest crops effectively.
• Manage livestock health, nutrition, breeding, and welfare.
• Develop and monitor farm budgets, workplans, and production forecasts.
• Train and supervise farm workers, ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety standards.
• Maintain tractors, tools, and other farming equipment in good working condition.
• Implement land management practices including soil health maintenance and pest control.
• Identify marketing opportunities, set product pricing, and negotiate sales to enhance commercial viability.
• Ensure compliance with farming regulations, environmental policies, and worker safety laws.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, financials, and productivity metrics.
• Set strategic goals based on data analysis to improve farm performance.
• Manage supply chain logistics including sourcing inputs and inventory control.
• Mitigate risks related to weather, diseases, and market fluctuations.
• Promote sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Grade 12 Certificate with Credit in English and Mathematics, verified by ZAQA.
• Diploma in Agriculture, verified by ZAQA.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar farm management role.

• Ability to work effectively with persons with disabilities.
• High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in record keeping and report writing.
