Position Overview – Driver (Full Time)

This permanent position, classified under Salary Scale ZUT 9, requires a professional committed to maintaining vehicle safety and reliability while delivering excellent customer service. The Driver will be responsible for the upkeep of assigned vehicles, adherence to traffic laws, and supporting the smooth operation of transportation within the institution.

Key Responsibilities for Driver Jobs in Ndola

• Operate vehicles to ensure safe transportation of staff, students, and visitors to various destinations.
• Maintain vehicles by washing, cleaning, and performing routine mechanical checks including tyre pressure, fuel levels, and engine fluids.
• Complete and manage log books in accordance with institutional requirements.
• Schedule regular vehicle servicing and promptly report mechanical issues.
• Assist passengers with luggage during boarding and disembarking, as well as loading and unloading tasks.
• Conduct simple repairs and preventive maintenance such as tyre rotation and minor part replacements.
• Maintain accurate vehicle service and repair records.
• Manage inventory for vehicle supplies, including placing orders and verifying receipts.
• Ensure vehicles are adequately fueled at all times or request fuel as necessary.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five ‘O’ levels, including English and Mathematics.
• Possession of a PSV SADC Driver’s License – CE Class is mandatory.
• A certificate in automotive mechanics is an added advantage.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience in a similar role.

• Courteous, respectful, and cautious demeanor.
• Sober character with reliability and humility.
• Good knowledge of motor mechanics.
• Competence in writing clear and concise reports.
