About the Driver Positions – Driver Jobs in Lusaka

As a Driver at ERB, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of staff, visitors, and materials. Your responsibilities will extend beyond driving to include vehicle maintenance and assisting with inspection activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift vehicle inspections to confirm roadworthiness and compliance with traffic regulations.
• Transport ERB personnel and authorized visitors to designated locations safely and punctually.
• Support inspectors during field inspections when requested.
• Deliver and collect materials as assigned.
• Report any vehicle faults, defects, or accidents promptly to the appropriate authority.
• Notify the Head Driver when vehicles require servicing.
• Carry out minor vehicle repairs such as replacing brake pads, oil filters, and light bulbs.
• Maintain accurate daily travel records in the vehicle logbook.
• Ensure the security of assigned vehicles at all times.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English, including the ability to write clear reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional etiquette.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Possession of a valid SADC Driver’s Licence.
• Certificate in Mechanics is advantageous but not mandatory.
• At least three (3) years of relevant driving experience in a reputable organization.
• Proven experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Verification of academic and professional qualifications by ZAQA will be required.
