Driver Jobs in North-Western Province Zambia – 7 Full-Time Positions

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) is seeking qualified candidates for seven driver jobs in North-Western Province Zambia. These full-time positions are integral to the P656 – CHEP project, supporting the safe and efficient transportation of staff, materials, and equipment across multiple locations within the province. About the Driver Positions in North-Western Province

CIDRZ invites applications for seven driver roles based in the following towns:

• Solwezi – 1 position
• Kasempa – 1 position
• Mwinilunga – 2 positions
• Mushindamo – 1 position
• Kabompo – 1 position
• Zambezi – 1 position

Successful candidates will report to the Administrative Coordinator and Fleet Officer. The primary responsibility is to operate and maintain project vehicles safely and reliably to support project activities throughout the North-Western Province.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive assigned vehicles to ensure timely and safe transport of staff, equipment, and materials.
• Load and unload project-related equipment and materials as required.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks to track usage and accountability.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and prevent breakdowns.
• Prepare detailed reports on vehicle usage, adhering to CIDRZ policies and standards.
• Report accidents or vehicle defects promptly to facilitate repairs and corrective action.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks, including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tyres.
• Coordinate vehicle repairs and upkeep when necessary.
• Ensure vehicles remain clean and presentable at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Completed Grade 12 or Form V School Certificate.
• At least three years of professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
