To control the dispatch area and functions and to ensure correct methods are followed for containers, clients vehicles, packing for couriers and own transport deliveries.

FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage Dispatch Team

  • Employees are assessed on work performance monthly
  • Performance appraisals conducted when required
  • Effective staff meetings are scheduled and conducted weekly
  • Disciplinary code is effectively and fairly implemented
  • Dispatch is manned adequately at all times
  • Workload is fairly and sufficiently distributed to meet deadlines timeously

Manage exports

  • Maintain honesty and integrity
  • Packing and transporting of goods is completed efficiently, timeously and with no damages
  • The correct goods are delivered according to the customer correctly checked order / invoice.
  • Returns are checked against paperwork to ensure accuracy and the correct returns procedure is followed.
  • Deliveries are planned by taking into most economical and effective routes; fuel costs are kept to a minimum.

Manage Transport

  • Manage the courier service for all non-export orders, ensure customer goods are dispatched without damages and are on time.
  • Manage the stores delivery transport for all local orders, ensure customer goods are dispatched without damages and are on time.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the local delivery vehicles
  • Ensure only accredited courier companies are utilized

Safety and Security

  • Ensure that staff is trained on all relevant safety procedures as per OHS Act in liaison with L&D Team
  • All incidents are reported to the risk team

Shrinkage and Profitability Control

  • Demonstrate consistent application of internal policies and procedures
  • Escalate identified problems
  • Report suspicious occurrences or people security personnel
  • Verify information on all paperwork received thoroughly to ensure correct information with regards to government grants

Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Minimum grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification would be advantageous

Experience:

  • Sound knowledge of Policies and Procedures related to Liquor and Administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislative requirements would be advantageous
  • experience in store core operations, in a similar environment or a related role
  • 2 years FMCG/retail experience – preferably
  • 1-2 Years management experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills – advanced Excel is essential
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Ability to Work Without Supervision
