About the Role – Deputy Head Teacher Jobs in Mazabuka
As Deputy Head Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Teacher to maintain high educational standards and ensure smooth school operations. This fixed-term contract position requires a dynamic leader dedicated to upholding national education policies and promoting a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Grade 9 and Grade 12 national examinations in compliance with ECZ regulations.
Oversee student admissions, selection tests, and induction processes.
Supervise pupil welfare, discipline, and co-curricular activities.
Provide leadership and supervision to teaching staff, ensuring adherence to school policies.
Offer curriculum oversight by reviewing schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessments.
Prepare and manage school timetables efficiently.
Enhance academic performance through assessments and remedial support.
Deliver career guidance and counselling to students.
Assist the Head Teacher with administrative duties and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) activities.
Act as principal assistant and deputise for the Head Teacher when required.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, preferably with a specialization in Mathematics.
A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
Between 5 to 7 years of teaching experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to inspire both staff and students towards academic and behavioural excellence.
Sound knowledge of Zambian education policies and standards.
All relevant qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
