Depot Assistant

National Milling Corporation Limited is a reputable multinational milling company specialized in the manufacturing of various flour, mealie meal, stockfeed products also trades in rice and other products wishes to engage flexible and energetic persons to fill vacant positions.

1. Depot Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Perform various sales and marketing cashiering tasks in conjunction with the Depot Supervisor at a permanent location to comprise selling, receiving and collecting payments from customers for purchased products.
• Ensure to welcome and answering questions, assist with locating items including provision of advisory product knowledge service on selected products ensuring to highlight benefits.
• Count money in cash registers at the beginning of shift ensuring that amounts are correct and there are always adequate change monies available.
• Scan products ensure pricing is accurate, accept payments and that quantities purchase are correct ensuring invoices are issued and purchased items packaged ensuring to balance the cash register daily.
• Oversee weekly price changes and ensure to have the same implementation as per set timeline.
• Ensure proper stock management using FIFO approach of first in first out i.e inventory control, fine tune forecasting, identify low turn stock, audit stock, track stock levels, check life span to avoid expired products, reduce damage, ensure order when at re-order level.
• Follow all assigned sales depot operating procedures regarding customer purchase of specific items, return management, replenishing stock ensuring to check life span of all products at the assigned location.
• Resolve customer complaints and if unable escalate to the assigned superiors to ensure quick resolution.
• Ensure you have excellent customer relations experience even when under so much pressure, especially when dealing with difficulty customer, should remain calm to maintain the Corporation’s image.
• Track all sales transactions onto the daily sales register and report discrepancies to the assigned superiors in a timely manner to ensure quick resolution.
• Ensure to maintain a customer database to identify the most loyal profitable customers and have the same update on a regular basis.
• Compile routine reports to the superior regarding sales and marketing operational matters at the assigned sales depot.
• Ensure adequate safety measures are followed to protect the Corporation’s property and personnel.
• Ensure issuance payment of receipts for all purchased products including provision of an excellent customer relations service at the assigned sales depot.

2. General Worker

DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for performing various general worker routine laboring tasks of loading/offloading raw materials stock from suppliers to storage facilities and user-requesting departments, ensuring the corporation continues to safely receive.
• Responsible for issuing and transferring raw materials to service production demand.
• Ensure to perform all assigned tasks according to work orders, including general routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping and removal of debris at the assigned location.

Interested candidates must have a minimum of Grade Nine (9) school certificate, or a Grade 12 school certificate, which will be an added advantage, and at least two (2) years of previous working experience in a similar role, and be able to participate in manual handling duties of lifting up of 50kg bags.

3. Workshop Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform various general maintenance laboring routine tasks to comprise handling of minor electrical/mechanical repairs ensuring to assist the maintenance team to troubleshoot, replace anu equipment, able to operate sagely hand power tools, lift heavy objects as required, and perform regular cleaning tasks as per assigned location and shift.
• Complete minor repair work which includes repairing both mechanical/electrical machines, equipment and systems as well as replacing spares, components and installations under guidance of assigned superior.
• Promptly respond to requests for emergency repairs and clean ups.
• Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention ensuring that all maintenance equipment is in good working condition at the assigned location.
• Examine machinery to ensure that it is functioning properly ensuring to check for defects in components and parts and should also be able to disassemble damaged or broken equipment so it can be more easily repaired, then reassemble pieces after work has been successfully completed.
• Receiving deliveries of tools, equipment and parts to work has been successfully completed. Maintenance or repairs and able to move or position physical structures and other equipment to ensure easy access for the maintenance team who will be installing or assembling them.
• Receive work order and determine what parts, equipment and services are needed to perform necessary maintenance and repair work.
• Preform regular cleaning duties which include sweeping, dusting and mopping assigned work areas and attend to basic plumbing tasks which include clogging, drains etc.
• Perform related tasks as required.

Interested candidates must have a minimum qualification of a full grade 12 school certificate with a Craft Certificate in metal fabrication. Three (3) years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
