Position Overview
A reputable lime processing company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Crane Operator.
Key Responsibilities
Operate mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and statutory requirements.
Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on cranes and associated lifting equipment.
Lift, move, position, and place materials, equipment, and machinery as directed.
Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in compliance with approved lifting plans and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with riggers, supervisors, and other personnel during lifting operations.
Report equipment defects, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Maintain accurate records of crane inspections, operations, and maintenance activities.
Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 School Certificate.
Valid Crane Operator Certificate/License from a recognized institution.
Minimum of One (1) year proven experience operating mobile cranes in a mining, construction, or industrial environment.
Sound knowledge of lifting procedures, load charts, and crane safety regulations.
Ability to work under minimal supervision and in demanding environments.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A valid driver's license will be an added advantage.
