Role Overview: Chinese English Translator Jobs in Lusaka

The Chinese–English Translator / Interpreter will play a critical role in facilitating communication across language and cultural barriers. The successful candidate will support daily business interactions, translate important documents, and provide on-site interpretation to ensure clarity and efficiency in all dealings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate on-site interpretation between Mandarin and English during business activities, including customer reception, supplier negotiations, communication with local authorities, and staff management.
• Translate commercial documents such as invoices, contracts, product specifications, notices, and internal company materials with precision.
• Assist in daily office administration tasks, including preparing meeting minutes and following up on work-related issues.
• Facilitate effective cross-cultural communication between Chinese management and local Zambian employees, clients, and vendors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support business operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university is required.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Mandarin and English, with strong interpretation and translation skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, patience, responsibility, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
• Previous experience in trading, hardware, construction, or African business environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work on-site in Lusaka and commitment to long-term employment.
• Basic understanding of local business customs in Zambia is preferred.
