Location: Mika Hotels, Lusaka

Mika Convention Center is inviting applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic, and customer-oriented individuals to fill the position of Barman. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and professionalism within the bar.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and service standards.
• Welcome guests and provide friendly, efficient, and professional service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment, and glassware.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Bar Supervisor or Food and Beverage Manager.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of beverages.
• Process customer orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash and other payment methods in accordance with company procedures.
• Verify the legal drinking age of guests where applicable.
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with stock taking and inventory control.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Barman/Bartender in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality establishment.
• Knowledge of beverage preparation, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and bar operations.
• Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system will be an added advantage.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
