Key Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with mandatory ZICA Membership.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal auditing, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations, VAT calculations, accounts payable and receivable processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Proficiency in Pastel Accounting, Microsoft Excel, and other financial systems used for reporting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of internal controls, audit processes, and financial risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information and documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
- Ability to work independently while supporting the Internal Auditor and broader finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Internal Auditor with conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Perform regular branch audits, cashier spot checks, and verification of financial transactions to identify discrepancies and minimise financial risk.
- Prepare and perform bank reconciliations, VAT schedules, petty cash reconciliations, and other financial reconciliations accurately and on time.
- Review invoices, receipts, payroll records, vouchers, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Process and maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions within the accounting system.
- Prepare financial reports, age analysis, reconciliations, and audit schedules for management review and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate financial records, filing systems, and audit documentation to support compliance and future audits.
- Monitor adherence to financial controls and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.
- Assist with tax-related reporting and ensure financial information is prepared in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Provide administrative and accounting support to the finance department while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory ZICA Membership.
- CA Application Advanced Diploma will be advantageous.
- Experience in accounting, finance, internal auditing, or financial reporting environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and audit procedures.
- Experience using Pastel Accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of VAT, tax compliance, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and maintain comprehensive accounting records.
