Assistant Horticulturalist

Job Purpose / Description

To undertake maintenance, and improve landscaped grounds through horticultural best practices in order to support environmental sustainability, safety, aesthetics and a professional organisational image.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in Agricultural Science or equivalent.

Experience and Requirements

• Two (2) year relevant experience

Job Accountabilities

• Undertake effectively the overall upkeep and appearance of landscaped areas in order to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment.
• Undertake effectively the maintenance of plants and lawns to ensure their sustainability, health, and continued growth through effective horticultural practices.
• Undertake effectively initiatives that contribute to maintaining a professional and attractive organisational environment in order to uphold corporate image and standards.
• Undertake effectively the management of landscaped areas through environmentally responsible horticultural practices in order to ensure sustainability.
• Undertake effectively the implementation of safe working practices and ensures compliance with SHEQ environmental standards in order to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
• Undertake effectively the proper use and maintenance of horticultural tools and materials in order to ensure their longevity and safe operation
• Undertake effectively the development of workplans in line with the ZESCO Strategic plan and implementation of performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance in the zones.
