JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the incumbent will undertake the maintenance of management accounting records and aid prudent utilisation of resources as well as support accountability for company resources.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake the recording and maintenance of ledgers and other accounting records to facilitate preparation of adhoc financial management reports.
- Ensure safe custody of accountable documents to ensure their security.
- Undertake periodic verification of assets to enhance asset accounting
- Undertake the preparation of receivables reconciliations to ensure accurate records and reporting
- prepare and provide clients with monthly statements
- Undertake review of invoices to ensure accountability for the company’s income.
- Ensure prompt collection, receipting and depositing of all proceeds from sales
- Manage payroll input activities
- Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
- Create daily reports for management and team
- Tracks expenses against budgets.
- Management of petty cash
- Able to prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Timely filing and payment of statutory returns
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Grade 12 with a minimum of five (5) “O” levels credits including English and Mathematics.
- Diploma in Accountancy or Application/Skills level of CA Zambia, ACCA and CIMA etc.
- At least one (1) year practical experience in the relevant field.
- Must be computer literate.
- Competence in using accounting software.
- Must be a fully paid-up Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
