Artisan Helper

Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited provides water and sanitation services in Chingola, Mufulira and Chililabombwe and is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Perform simple repetitive physical tasks under an artisan’s direction, including lifting, pushing, weighing, loading, digging, cleaning, cutting, greasing and tightening or loosening bolts using basic equipment and tools.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lift, load and unload tools and equipment as directed.
• Loosen and tighten bolts, screws or straps to secure parts, equipment, machinery or goods.
• Dig and backfill after the artisan repairs defects or completes work.
• Clean floors and work areas and slash grass as directed.
• Record simple data and information.
• Undertake any other simple task assigned by the artisan.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and/or civil works.
• Ability to handle and prepare tools, equipment and materials.
• Basic ability to operate and care for hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
