About INFOWISE ENTERPRISES and the Role

Based in Lusaka, INFOWISE ENTERPRISES Limited combines technology with agriculture to develop high-efficiency farming systems. We are expanding our agricultural division and require an agronomist with practical experience in both fish farming and traditional crop cultivation. Although prior hydroponics or aquaponics experience is not mandatory, candidates must demonstrate strong fundamentals in biology, crop management, and aquaculture, with a keen interest in adapting to advanced recirculating systems.

Key Responsibilities for Agronomist Jobs in Lusaka

• Crop Management: Supervise the planting, growth, and health of primary crops, focusing on lettuce and strawberries to maximize yield and quality.
• Fish Farming Operations: Oversee daily fish health, feeding, stocking, and general aquaculture husbandry tasks.
• Water Quality Monitoring: Regularly test and manage water parameters including pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, ammonia, and nitrates to maintain a balanced ecosystem.
• System Learning & Adaptation: Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and integrate knowledge into our commercial recirculating systems.
• Preventative Care: Detect and address crop pests, diseases, and fish health issues promptly to prevent losses.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven dual experience in fish farming (aquaculture) and crop cultivation is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with lettuce and/or strawberry cultivation is a significant plus.
• Formal education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Aquaculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, or related fields.
• Strong foundational knowledge in biology and crop/fish management; willingness to learn hydroponics and aquaponics systems through company training.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and self-motivated with a passion for technology-driven agriculture.
• Residency or willingness to work in Lusaka, Zambia.
