Accountant

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, ZICA, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and management accounting.
• Experience with tax compliance, statutory reporting, and audits.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP Business One, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions and cash flow management.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax legislation, statutory reporting, and accounting standards.
• Process payroll and statutory deductions accurately and on time.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and supplier payments.
• Manage foreign currency transactions and banking relationships.
• Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and fixed asset registers.
• Develop and maintain effective financial controls and company policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits and resolve audit findings.
• Support management by providing financial analysis and business insights.
